Sarah and Brandon

With smiles like Sarah and Brandon, it would have been difficult not to come up with some great images for their engagement session.

Family Portraits

Despite my profession, it is my wife who usually takes pictures of the kids. This is not because I don't enjoy photographing my children. Rather, she takes so many (and she is pretty good at it) that when I do think about taking out my camera all I can hear is my father's voice saying "how many pictures of the kids do you need, Elizabeth?" While my mother generally ignored my father's bafflement at the entire process ("The kids are right here. Why do I need a picture of them?"), I too have become a little overwhelmed by the sheer volume of "memories" my wife has captured of our family-we actually have photographic proof of my son Simon's first bowel movement. The result of my negligence is that we have many pictures of me and the boys, Baba and the boys, uncle Mark and the boys, Baba Muha and the boys, just the boys (you get the idea), yet we have very few of Inna and the boys. So I decided to combine a pregnancy photo session (Q: "Can't we just use the pictures of you pregnant with Simon for all three?"A: profound silence followed by deep sigh) with shots of Inna and the boys. Enjoy.

Rachel and Mike

Rachel and Mike are a perfect couple to start my wedding blog with. Not only did I find a bride hip enough to take portraits in a garbage strewn empty lot in downtown Cincinnati, but they were incredible subjects to photograph. When they looked at each other, it was as if they were on an island all to themselves. It was magical to watch. Here are some of my favorite shots.
