There is a breed of photographer who cannot go anywhere without a camera. Usually these people either work for, or have worked for, a newspaper, and as such deem it artistically and financially prudent to carry a camera with them to capture what ever tragedy/drama/art may happen. I am not one of those people. Maybe because my photographic life has become pretty structured around weddings, I frequently don't "see in pictures" as some photojournalists do. That being said, I happen to have my camera with me today as I had gone down to Phia to take pictures of my show (Simply Canvas is going to be featuring my work on their website and wanted a picture). Driving home on the freeway I looked over and saw a picture crying out to be taken. So I took the next off-ramp and after a little bit of searching saw the mound of salt? dirt? that was shining so intensely against the blue sky. Here is what jumped out and grabbed me.
